Jess has an MFA in creative writing from The University of South Florida, and degrees in ecology and nursing. As an ecologist, she completed graduate study in biological oceanography and studied pollinators, marine fish, and zooplankton. As a nurse, she has worked in the ICU and operating room.
She’s been writing about vocation and while recovering from post-viral illness has started to explore music and nature as subjects. Her previous publications can be found in Mud Season Review, Speculative Nonfiction, The Missouri Review, and elsewhere.
You can read her Florida nature diary here.
